On Friday 16th October, the Fiji Higher Education Commission (FHEC) Interim Director, Mr Vijay Naidu had the honour of officiating at the FNU Students’ Association (FNUSA)
Diwali Celebrations hosted by the Fiji School Of Medicine Students’ Association at the Pasifika Campus, Suva. The evening was filled with colour, friendly competition and traditional food and sweets. Mr Naidu made a special emphasis on the FHEC’s guardian role in higher education, protecting the interests of learners by ensuring quality standards in the programmes and qualifications offered to learners. Also mentioned was the recent ratification of the Asia-Pacific Regional Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications in Higher Education, also known as the Tokyo Convention and the opportunities created for educational and labour mobility for learners from Fiji to the Asia-Pacific region.
The FHEC thanks the FNUSA for the opportunity to open their Diwali Celebrations and wishes the students the very best for their upcoming examinations.
