Stephanie Ho proudly received her award from Mr Hennon Yuen of the Fiji Higher Education Commission Secretariat (FHEC) after being named the Best Sewing Student at the Makoi Women’s Vocational Training Centre (MWVTC) graduation yesterday (Thursday 30th July 2020). Ms Ho is part of the 21st graduation batch of the MWVTC that saw 28 women receive their Certificates in Sewing and Culinary and Patisserie.

The COVID-19 pandemic did not deter the women from completing their programmes as every learner in the batch returned when the MWVTC resumed training activities.

The FIJI MUSLIM LEAGUE National President, Mr Hafiz Khan who was the Chief Guest, congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to use their newly acquired knowledge and skills to make a difference in their families and in society.

Since its establishment in 2015, the MWVTC has been offering free training to vulnerable women from low socio-economic backgrounds, producing a total of 1095 graduates. The MWVTC is recognised by the FHEC and is working towards obtaining its full registration status.
