On Monday 20th January 2020, the Fiji Higher Education Commission (FHEC) made a presentation to the Parliament of the Republic of Fiji Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence to elaborate on why Fiji should ratify the 2011 Asia-Pacific Convention on the Recognition of Higher Education Qualifications (Tokyo Convention). The FHEC assured the Committee that Fiji is ready to ratify the Tokyo Convention and has the capacity to implement the requirements. Representing the FHEC were Dr Nikhat Shameem, Atelini Koroi, Eci Naisele and Epi Rawalai. Standing Committee members included Hon. Alexandra O’Connour (Chair), Hon. Dr Salik Goving (member), Hon. Anare Jale (member) and Hon. Lenora Qereqeretabua (member).
